One Year Older...

Yesterday was my birthday, and it was a pretty great one at that! If someone had told me last year that I'd celebrate my next birthday on a little island in the Caribbean, with my husband, I would've laughed at them! In fact, last year at this time I hadn't even met Adam yet. A lot can happen in a year!

Adam got up early on Saturday and said he was going to get us breakfast! He came back a little while later with fresh bear claws from a little bakery downtown. Bear claws are like a danish... soft flaky bread filled with some kind of yummy cheese filling, drizzled with a sweet glaze and topped with roasted almonds... YUM!

That night we celebrated with dinner at one of the restaurants at the Four Seasons Resort called Mango. The restaurant sits right on the water, and the food was amazing! We had fish (of course) that was so good! And desert was just as good... chocolate mousse layered with praliene cream and mango on top! After dinner we went for a walk around some of the Four Seasons' grounds. It was beautiful, even in the dark! I can't wait to go back in the day time and look around some more! It was a perfect night, and a perfect birthday date!

Sunday morning I got breakfast in bed! Smart guy... he bought bear claws for two breakfasts! I think I could eat these things for breakfast every morning, but that would not be helpful to my workout plan, or my wardrobe. :)

After church, some dinner, and a nice Sunday nap, we went for a walk on the beach. Is there anything more relaxing than the sound of the ocean, and digging your toes into the sand? Then we came home and topped off the evening with cheesecake and Oreo ice cream (a treat we haven't had since we left home, because it's pretty pricey here)! It was nice to get to talk to lots of family on the phone yesterday too, both Browns and Pattersons!

THANK YOU Adam for making my birthday, and every day, so great!! I'm so glad you were one of the changes that happened in my life this year. I'm a lucky girl!
