Catching Up

I've been such a slacker lately! It's time for a serious "catch up" post! I can't believe February has almost come and gone already!

Here are some of our recent happenings:

* Raelynn got a job!! Another student's wife has been working as a dental assistant for a local dentist, and she's calling it quits to have a baby at the end of March, and I get to take her spot! I've started shadowing her a few days a week already to try and learn everything dental before she's done. I'm looking forward to being busy for a few mornings every week, and the extra money will be a nice bonus too!

* I spent a Saturday afternoon at the beach with some of the other wives while our husbands were all locked away studying for exams. It's always nice to soak up some sunshine! It was fun to watch all the kids play in the water, and see all the "treasures" they found...

* We celebrated VALENTINE'S DAY! We kept it pretty low key, with heart shaped pizza for dinner, and a trip to a new frozen yogurt/ desert shop downtown! It was a the first time we'd been there, and we will definitely be going back... regularly! Then we ended the evening on the couch with a movie. It was so nice to just spend the afternoon and evening together! Adam didn't even crack a text book that night, which was the nicest valentine's gift ever! :)

* Our little island made national news this week when on of the Supreme Court Justices came to visit. Read the story here. It's unfortunate that it happened but it sure has given people something to talk about! Since it happened it seems everyone we talk to here on the island has a different story that they heard is "what really happened!" Several people have asked us if we still feel safe here, and honestly yes we do!

And that pretty much wraps up our last few weeks! I promise to do better at carrying my camera and documenting our fun!
