Our hotel was right on the water in Old San Juan, just across the street from where the cruise ships docked! We watched them come in in the morning and then blow their horn and pull out at night time, all lit up. It looked like a lot of fun!
Old San Juan is such a neat place! The whole city is about 7 blocks by 8 blocks, so everything is within walking distance! Little shops of every kind and restaurants housed in old Spanish style buildings line the narrow blue cobblestone streets, and there are plazas on just about every other corner.
We did a lot of sight seeing! We toured the old forts that were originally built to protect the island, visited museums, poked our heads in countless little shops, tried a Pina Colada at the restaurant that claimed they invented it, toured the Cathedral, and the Governor's Palace, poked our heads in more shops, and ate some of the best Mexican food we've had in a long time at a little restaurant that had their tables and chairs set up in the street, complete with an old man playing the accordion... just to name a few high lights. :)
We had such a great time! Of course, it all went by too fast and before we knew it our adventure was over. Lucky for me, every day with this guy is an adventure! Thanks for an awesome trip, and an incredible first year of marriage! Happy Anniversary to us!!
