This semester Adam has started doing clinical hours at the hospital here on the island. So far his experiences sound "interesting" to say the least. The hospital is government run. It is small, poorly equipped, understaffed, etc... But they do the best they can with what they have. The rooms are big and open with patient beds lined up next to eachother against the wall, and for a little bit of ventilation they open the windows or, a few of the rooms have a ceiling fan - a major upgrade! He came home from the first day and said "whatever we do, we can't get sick because we do NOT want to have to go there!" :) He is enjoying the change of scenery from the classroom once in a awhile, and is learning a lot about third world medicine!
