Turkey Weekend - Without the Turkey

We hope everyone enjoyed a great Thanksgiving weekend! We missed being with family (the Browns at the ranch in Mexico, and the Pattersons at Disneyland) but we're glad they all had fun, and we're counting down the days till we're back home to party with all of them for a few weeks!

Thanksgiving isn't celebrated on Nevis. And, as if not getting the day off of school wasn't bad enough, Adam spent the day taking exams, and studying for more exams on Friday! He did take a little break Thursday night so we could eat our Thanksgiving Dinner. I opted not to cook a turkey, since it was just the two of us, but a fresh rotisserie chicken from our fabulous new grocery store made a nice substitute!

My favorite part of the weekend was that my hubby got to just relax for the rest of the weekend after his exams! He got to watch a few football games, take a couple naps, and hang out with ME! Saturday evening we went to check out one of the beaches we hadn't been to yet. We had to park the car and then walk a little ways through the jungle to get to it. It was really pretty, and pretty empty which was nice. And Sunday we went for a drive to explore some of the island we haven't seen much of yet. I know what you're thinking... "good grief they've lived there for 3 months and the island is only 36 square miles, how have they not seen it all?" Thank you medical school, for stealing my exploring partner... that's how. But it sure was fun to have him back for the weekend!

There's supposed to be a beach around here somewhere...

Contemplating life?
I love evening walks on the beach with my man!

An old sugar mill we found. (hairdo compliments of the windy Atlantic Ocean)

Now Adam is back in lock-down, studying for finals next week. But we're looking forward to more relaxing holiday fun... 10 days from now... in America! :)

  1. Fun stuff... except for the exams part. And I love your windy hairdo. :)
