HE'S HERE!...

At my doctor appointment on Thursday, the 13th, he told me that I was 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced, and that if this baby didn't come over the weekend, then by Monday we should probably talk about inducing labor. My response? "If we're going to talk about it on Monday, can we just talk about it right now??" And so we did, and he scheduled me to be induced the next morning at 7 am. Everything went smoothly, and we are so grateful that he's here safe and healthy!

And here he is.....

CHANDLER RALPH PATTERSON
8 lbs, 9 oz. 20 inches long
Born 6/14/2013 at 5:53 pm

My mom and sisters were waiting patiently in the waiting room to meet Chandler as soon and he was born. And Great Grandpa and Grandma Crockett stopped by right after he was born as well.

GOING HOME
We were excited to get out of the hospital and settled at home. But just before we were discharged, a huge thunderstorm hit and knocked over trees and power lines all over the valley. We got home in Pima to no power. It was the perfect welcome home on a nice June evening! They were working on the lines when we got home, but the power didn't come back on until about 3am. To make things even better, Chandler cried from the time we left the hospital until 4am. He cried so long that he was hoarse the next day! I guess he was just super excited about being home with his new parents. It was definitely a first night home to remember!

ONE WEEK OLD
The day Chandler was born, it was discovered that my dad had a detached retina and had to have emergency surgery to repair it. Even worse was that he was in Mesa, and was told he wouldn't be able to travel home to Pima for 8 weeks because of the elevation changes! He was so sad, and we all felt so bad for him! So when the baby was a week old, we packed him in the car and went to meet Grandpa! Chandler snuggled right up in his arms and slept for almost 3 hours. I'm pretty sure they both enjoyed the visit!

Even with all the drama going on around him his first couple weeks of life, he seems to have settled in quite comfortably. Naps are serious business...

And overall he's pretty content with life. Until we try to give him a bath and change his clothes...

It's only been 2 weeks, and we're already more in love with this little guy than we could have ever imagined possible! Yes, son, I think we'll keep you!
