White Coat Ceremony

On April 18th, after 20 months of stress, countless hours of studying, and a lot of sleepless nights, Adam took his last exam on MUA's campus and officially received his white coat!

That morning he had to take his last final... a 4 hour comprehensive test over the last two years of material. His score on that test would determine if he got to take his boards this summer and move on to clinical rotations this fall.... no pressure, right?! They took the test and were told they'd be notified of their scores via email sometime within 24-48 hrs. So the stress continued just a little longer. (He did get his email 48 hours later, in a little corner of the Miami Airport while we waited for our connecting flight home, that he passed! I never doubted that he would, but I may have shed a few happy tears for him, and we might have celebrated with a Wendy's frosty!) :)

But back to the ceremony... In the evening everyone met back at the school for the white coat ceremony. They handed out some awards, a couple of the professors spoke, then each student received their white coat, and the class repeated the Hippocratic Oath.

After the ceremony everyone was invited to a catered dinner/class party at Nisbet Plantation, one of the fancy resorts on the beach. The food was so yummy!

MUA class of 2013... Can you find Adam?

I know I've said it before, but I could not be more proud of this guy! I'm constantly amazed at his determination and dedication! And that night it was fun to see him rewarded for all of his hard work over the last 20 months. Basic sciences = DONE! Now on to the next adventure!!
